Woah, you’ve got a good eye~ But yes, I’ve stopped for now. There are a few reasons to why I stopped watermarking, actually!
1. Watermarking doesn’t prevent reposting.
2. The watermark (in my opinion) ruins the quality of the graphics/gif I try to make.
3. I shouldn’t watermark something I don’t own art/animation of.
As much as I don’t like people reposting my stuff, I realised that this is the Internet, and well, it can’t really be stopped anymore. Occasionally I would ask them to take it down but eh.. To me, I think when I make stuff, I make it for myself and others and I’m happy that I was the one who originally made it (I guess). There are those who inspire me to make graphics as well, so thank you! I’d be grateful if you guys do reblog stuff from me rather than reposts.
Gosh, my old watermarks when I first started were horrible and it totally ruins everything, back in those days. After, I tried to make it more invisible, but I realised I should just stop bc another point is that I don’t actually own the art/animation. I just take take time in making animation into graphics and gifs for me and maybe you guys. I mean, sure it takes a lot of time to make these stuff sometimes, but I want to just have fun and enjoy making stuff I like for now instead of marking my own name on it.
That’s basically it! I guess ocassionally I might watermark if I took a lot of time on it, but otherwise, I don’t think I will do it anymore. I still have some old stuff in my drafts that have watermark, so if I post those, you’ll know they’re old haha. But yeah that is the reason why I don’t watermark anymore, if you’re curious.
